Orthobloggers, how are you? I’m celebrating 3 and a half months post surgery today, and things are mostly fine.
- James has finally got used to my new face and has embarked on a cooking mission to feed me tasty, nutritionally balanced stuff that I have to chew a little – make those muscles work- but not too much – under no circumstance should post-surgery diners reach frustration point and throw their cutlery in the cook’s general direction.
- A total of seven people have declared that I look like Juliette Binoche, which is cute and probably a compliment. (I really don’t).
- Teaching has been ok, talking is tiring but nothing major. I manage.
- I have regained complete sensitivity in my chin and lower lip; my teeth don’t feel like blocks of wood anymore. I’m impressed, and grateful.
- I’m booked for a visit to Dr L and to my ortho on October 7th; fingers and toes are crossed that the Eurostar will be working by then. There is still quite a lot of fine tuning to be done, and at this rate the hardware will never come off before Christmas! I don’t really care, actually.
I too, think you look a little like Juliette Binoche! =)
I am happy to hear you are getting feeling back. My chin is so numb. There is always a piece of food just sitting on it. Also, your teeth don’t feel like wood anymore? I hope that happens to me!!! Mine are definitely still wood.
I cross my fingers that your hardware comes off before Christmas.

Hey! Been thinkin about you lately and wanted to say howdy and hope all is continueing on in it’s own sweet way. I can see where the Juliette Binoche is coming from. Also the chickie-poo playing the foreign undercover agent in XXX with Vin Deisel ( my husband made me watch it under extreme duress, I swear!) but I saw her and went, HOLY SHIT! Chinderella is kicking same major a$$!!!
So good everything has come together after all the scariness and uncertainties. Man time flies as it creeps along. You’ll be a fiddle and out of the hardware in no time 🙂
