Chinderella – it’s an orthognathic fairytale, you see.

More ‘Before and after’ photos.

Audience : Ok, Chinders, enough whining about arthrititististis. We googled ‘ugly mugs’ and ‘jaw surgery’ for a reason. Give us some before and after photos already.

Oh, ok. Here goes: at the bottom, old profile, pictures that would have been instantly chucked into the bin had I not planned this surgery and looked forward to a brighter, orthognathic furture. At the top, new profile about  D + 7 weeks. Anyone thinking the changes are minimal needs their eyes checked.. 🙂

  1. You are so lovely in the ‘after’ photos – totally like a younger Juliette Binoche! Is this still with residual swelling, or is this with all the swelling gone? It’s so hard to tell when people’s upper lips suddenly get so much more prominent.

  6. My surgeon refused to do this lower sagital split and only did the Lefort 1 for my Class III also. My result 6 years later is what you are in the before picture. I am so unhappy that he didn’t do this in 2006 when I had good insurance at the time. How much did yours cost may I ask? You look absolutely gorgeous. You had a very nice result.

  7. Jen, I’m so sorry you’re unhappy with the results -it’s such a lot to go through, so it must be such a disappointment.
As to how much it cost me, because it was done in France it’s difficult to compare : we have automatic health insurance so I didn’t pay for the 6 night hospital stay (a 6 night stay in hospital would about 6000 euros). The surgeon fee, which I did pay, was 1700 euros. The biggest cost was the braces, which cost me 4000 euros over 3 years. It felt like a lot of monet at the time but I suspect it’s not that much really compared to what some people have to shell out in the States.
