Some people might call it progress

Hey blogfolks, how have you been? But enough about you, let’s talk about me. Pictures, you say? Oh, right, wait… nah, I’m still too cowardly. Maybe later.

Sixth months of braces : progress is happening! I now have a very definite, extremely fascinating overbite; on my last visit to the orthodentist she changed both archwires to the next size up; I got my plaster cast thing back and had a whole new round of x-rays taken. Now that both rows of teeth have been straightened out a bit the overbite is obvious, and prevents me from biting into anything at all: food, people, I have to cut all of of them into bitesize morsels until further notice. Spaghetti, noodles, lettuce and friendly, playful bites are now out of the question. Aren’t you pleased you’re not my friend? Still, it’s so exciting feeling so awkward!

I have an appointment to see my surgeon at the end of August. He might give me a surgery date! Or not. I’m trying to not get my hopes up, but I like to imagine that perhaps, next year at this time, I’ll be puffy-cheeked and resorting to a little white board for communicating. In the meantime I shall go to Madrid and smile my special metal, slightly crooked smile at people, and speak as much as I can , while I can. Be well!
